Board of Directors

Willing Hands has a dedicated volunteer board of directors who are proud to support this vital organization. Scroll to the bottom of the page for some photos of our board members at work for Willing Hands.

Peter Carter — President

Peter is an attorney at the law firm of Hershenson, Carter, Scott & McGee. He serves Willing Hands as our legal consultant.

Carolyn Frye — Vice President

Carolyn is co-chair of the Prouty Executive Steering Committee at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center. She helps run our gleaning program and is one of our volunteer coordinators.

Susan Gault — Secretary

Before retiring to the Upper Valley, Sue managed technical writing and course development for a computer company.  She now enjoys running her own antiques business and also serves on the steering Committee for the Thetford Elder Network.

Philip A. Lapp, CPA – Treasurer
Phil is the Co-Managing Partner with Gallagher, Flynn & Company, a regional firm with offices in Hanover, NH and Burlington, VT.  He primarily works in the tax and consulting areas, as well as overall firm management.  Phil lives in Sharon, VT with his spouse and two kids.

Tim Fisher – Director

Tim is a certified financial planner at Brendel & Fisher Financial Advisors, and has enjoyed the field of financial planning for over twenty years. In his spare time he enjoys growing Christmas trees, raising chickens, trout in his pond, and gardening. An avid skier, he coached the Ford Sayre Ski Team for ten years following coaching for ten years at Dartmouth

Rebecca Hooper Holland- Director

Becky is presently a full-time Mother who has 10 years previous experience in non-profit development and operations at Grassroot Soccer and Vermont Institute of Natural Science. Prior to her non profit work, she spent two seasons assisting in operations at McMurdo Station, Antarctica. She grew up on a vegetable and flower farm in Vermont and believes that access to fresh, local food is vital to healthy lives and communities.

Birgit Humpert – Director

Birgit Humpert is certified dietitian and currently self-employed. She coordinates our Facebook page and our nutrition education program.

Bartlett Leber – Director

Bartlett Leber is an independent lawyer, formerly General Counsel of Atlantic Broadband.  She volunteers as a field worker at Willing Hands one acre “garden.”

Pooh Sprague – Director

Pooh and his family own and run Edgewater Farm in Plainfield, NH.  They have donated many tons of farm-fresh produce and have been a strong supporters of Willing Hands since the earliest days of our operation.

Jay Van Arman – Director

Jay is a farmer and school bus driver.  Jay helps keep an eye on daily operations and volunteers as a driver for Willing Hands on Sundays.
